Watch this page for information about
our annual National and Regional Gatherings!

CMN's gatherings are joyful celebrations of our music, the children in our lives, and the work we do to make a difference in the world. We share songs, ideas, and resources, plus teaching tools, songwriting techniques, community building skills, and marketing tips. In spontaneous song swaps and networking, as well as in structured workshops and presentations, we expand our knowledge and reignite our spirits. Non-members are welcome to attend.

New York Metro

Songwriters Group

Steven Zelin has offered to host a song critique group at his apartment in Manhattan on the second Sunday of every month at 2:00 P.M. Songwriters should bring a song or two or three (any style, but we would expect to focus on children’s songs), plus lyric sheets. Open to CMN members and nonmembers. No charge, but bring a snack to share if you can. Contact Steven with questions or to get directions.

Northern California

CMN members will present a sing-along concert at the San Francisco Folk Festival on June 21, 2008.

For details, click here to see the flyer.

Pacific Northwest

Pacific Northwest Regional Gathering
June 6–7, 2008 (with optional extension to June 8)
Children's Museum in Portland, Oregon

We'll start with a dinner on Friday, then sponsor a song circle open to all museum guests that evening. Afterward, when the doors close for the night, we will have our own CMN gathering and sleepover. On Saturday morning we'll be up, done with breakfast, and ready to leave before museum doors open again at ten o’clock.

Local? You may come for just the potluck and song circle, if you wish.
From out of town? You might want to stay for an optional Saturday extension. Take a hike in the hills, do some widlife watching (and maybe see an eagle), or check out the wilds of downtown Portland and the famous Powell's Bookstore (largest bookstore under one roof). We can put you up Saturday night at the homes of local members and feed you breakfast before you head back home.
